The Internet Banking password now has a validity of 120 days. This has been extended from the previous 60 day validity. There is also the option to change the password at any time through the Internet Banking portal.  (This feature is found under Profile options at the top right-hand corner)

The bank has introduced a password expiry indicator on the top right hand side of the Internet Banking screens.

How many invalid password attempts am I allowed before my account is blocked?

Mobile authentication users have 5 password attempts before their Internet Banking account is blocked. Below is a brief explanation of how the login failed attempts are dealt with by the system. These messages have been recently improved to provide better assistance during the login process.

Failed Attempts What will you see  What it means
1 We are sorry the user login ID/password combination does not appear to be valid. Please check the information and try again. The login ID or the password is incorrect.
2 We are sorry the user login ID/password combination does not appear to be valid. Please check the information and try again. Same as above.
3 The user login ID/password combination does not appear to be valid. Please check the information and try again after 4 minutes. The system activates the first speedbump security measure. This security measure does not allow you to log in for 4 minutes in order to deter malicious attacks. During these 4 minutes your login will not be validated and even if you enter the correct password the system will not allow you to log in. When trying to log in during the speedbump the system will prompt you with the following message “You are not allowed to log in for 4 minutes!”
4 The user login ID/password combination does not appear to be valid. Please check the information and try again after 30 minutes. The difference from the above is a 30 minute wait instead of 4 minutes.
