Next MSF announced – ‘Fashion Reimagined: Rethink, Reuse, Revive’

On Tuesday, 12 March 2024, the Malta Sustainability Forum (MSF), organised by APS Bank, will host its first event of the year, titled ‘Fashion Reimagined: Rethink, Reuse, Revive.’ This livestreamed event is designed to raise awareness about the environmental impact of the fast fashion industry.

This forum advocates for a transformative approach within the fashion sector, urging stakeholders to reconsider conventional practices and adopt sustainable alternatives. Framed within the “Rethink, Reuse, Revive” mindset, the discussion will centre on the pressing need for individuals to adjust their consumption habits towards reusing clothing and extending its lifespan through practices like upcycling, repurposing and adopting circular economy models. The goal is to foster a conscious consumer and industry mindset, exploring innovative solutions and inspiring collective action towards a fashion landscape that is both visually captivating and environmentally sustainable.

Liana DeBattista, Chief Strategy Officer at APS Bank stated, “We are keen to shine a spotlight on this pivotal issue that impacts us all. As stewards of our planet, it is our responsibility to reassess our relationship with fashion and embrace more sustainable practices. Through the principles of Rethink, Reuse, Revive, we can collectively pave the way towards a more ethical and environmentally-conscious fashion landscape.”

MSF was launched in 2019 with the objective of raising awareness about sustainability, empowering citizens to make conscious decisions towards a more sustainable life. Sustainability lies at the heart of APS Bank’s mission, underpinning its business strategy and forming a core pillar of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
