APS Bank hosted the 10th session in its APS Business Talks series, titled Green building in Malta: From vision to reality, delivered by Mahmoud Kamal, Partner and Senior Design Architect at QP. The session explored sustainability in the built environment, highlighting how buildings influence energy use, emissions and long-term environmental impact.

Mr Kamal discussed how green building certifications can support the design and operation of energy-efficient and resilient buildings through measurable standards and long-term planning. He also shared local and international case studies, showing how certification frameworks can encourage innovation in areas such as materials, ventilation, daylighting and renewable energy, while helping reduce risks linked to rising energy costs, climate impacts and greenwashing.

Commenting on the session, APS Bank CSR Manager Jeremy Vassallo said, “Through APS Business Talks, we continue to encourage informed discussions on subjects that shape Malta’s future, including sustainability, innovation and responsible development.”
