On Thursday 17 September 2026, APS Bank shared its experience in AI governance, literacy and implementation at a stakeholder focus group forming part of Malta Employers’ SME Week 2026 initiative, Making AI Work for SMEs: From Policy to Practice. Digital Innovation Manager Edwin Balzan shared insights from the Bank’s ongoing AI journey, from the introduction of its AI Policy to its more recent AI training and digital innovation initiatives.
The focus group brought together stakeholders from industry, government and academia to discuss AI adoption in Malta, including governance, skills and implementation challenges, and practical ways to support SMEs.
