‘Running a bank amid rising interest rates: challenges, risk and opportunities’ was the theme of the first 2023 Senior Management Offsite. The residential two-day event was held at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands. The content included presentations and discussions by internal subject matter experts, focusing on the impact of rising interest rates, and the Bank’s strategic responses. The attendees also followed the live stream of the APS Business talk, ‘The rise in inflation and interest rates: Macroeconomic impacts’ delivered by Dr Aaron G. Grech, Chief Economist at the Central Bank of Malta, which was open to public registration.
Commenting about the Offsite, Marvin Farrugia, Head of Asset Liability Management said, “The frank exchange of views will help to chart the way forward to manage the Bank in a constantly evolving situation.”
