APS publication wins National Book Prize

The APS publication The Great Maltese Composers: Historical Context, Lives and Works, penned by author Joseph Vella Bondin, has won the first prize in the Biographical and Historiographic Research category of the 2016 National Book Prize.

This was announced during an award ceremony held on Thursday, 7 December, 2017 at the Auberge de Castille.

The book, which is the first ever comprehensive study of Maltese music written in English, chronologically revisits the lives of Maltese composers who have played an important role in the history of Maltese music.

Two other APS publications, Photography in Malta: the History & the Protagonists and Vanishing Malta: Raising Consciousness on Safeguarding Malta’s Legacy, both penned by Kevin Casha, were also among the 35 books nominated for an award under their respective categories
