With the usual Christmas social events cancelled due to the pandemic, APS Bank channelled some extra funds to 12 NGOs, all worthy charities and organisations in their respective areas.
The selected beneficiaries were Fondazzjoni Arka, Dar il-Kaptan, Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, Malta Society for the Protection & Care of Animals, Malta Society of the Blind, Hospice Malta, Down Syndrome Association Malta, Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Malta Heart Foundation, Dar Merhba Bik, Ursuline Sisters and Breast Care Support Group Europa Donna Malta. The choice of organisations was made through a survey at which all Bank staff members were encouraged to vote for their preferred beneficiary. Members of staff, including those on the Social Activities Committee, were invited to present the donations.
Ray Bonnici, Chief People Officer at APS Bank commented that, “We looked for ways we could still celebrate Christmas and spread good cheer without meeting socially, and what better way to do that than to support causes that do so much for our communities.”
