APS Bank has funded the installation of new air-conditioning systems at the Soup Kitchen OFM Valletta, aimed at improving comfort and supporting the day-to-day operations of the organisation.

The systems were officially inaugurated on Monday 16 March 2026 during a small event held on site. The initiative will enhance the environment for both the individuals making use of the service and the volunteers who support its daily activities. The project forms part of the Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting community organisations and initiatives that address social needs.

Rachael Blackburn, Head of Culture at APS Bank, said: “We’re proud to support the Soup Kitchen with this initiative, which will help make the space more comfortable and welcoming for those who depend on it. Supporting organisations that truly make a difference in people’s lives is something we deeply care about.”

Fr Marcellino Micallef, Director of Soup Kitchen OFM Valletta, said: “This support from APS Bank is more than a practical upgrade, it is an act of compassion. The people who come to us are not beggars; they are individuals who have lived through difficult moments, just as any one of us might. They deserve the very best, a life with dignity. Creating a space that is comfortable, respectful, and truly human is part of our mission. We are deeply grateful for this collaboration, which helps us continue serving with warmth, respect, and hope.”
