Solar power at APS Bank

APS Bank has recently completed the installation of 150 photovoltaic (PV) panels across four of its office sites. This initiative marks a significant step forward in the Bank’s ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and embrace sustainable practices.

The introduction of PV panels is part of APS Bank’s broader commitment to greening its operations and minimising its environmental impact. By harnessing solar energy to help power its offices, the Bank aims to not only lower its reliance on traditional energy sources but also contribute to the fight against climate change.

The installation of these panels is projected to offset approximately 44 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. At peak performance, the PV panels will generate a total of 62kWp, producing an estimated 100,000kWh of clean energy each year.

Charles Galea, Senior Projects, Facilities, Physical Security Manager at APS Bank, stated, “Sustainability is central to the Bank’s purpose. Following the successful implementation of the EV charging network in our garages, we are proud to take further steps towards reducing the environmental impact of our operations. Installing these PV panels, has the equivalent impact of planting 815 trees or generating enough power for 21 households. We are glad to be driving positive change within our organisation and the communities we serve.”
