APS Bank recently held its third #APSlife DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Breakfast titled “Celebrating identity beyond labels”, inviting colleagues to reflect on how people can better support one another, no matter our background, identity, or personal responsibilities.
Held at the Swatar Head Office and streamed online, the event featured guest speakers Clayton Mercieca, Head at the Human Rights Directorate, and Aaron Giardina, Assistant Director at the SOGIGESC. Drawing from their experience in social work and community building, the speakers encouraged open and respectful conversations about sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics.
Colleagues also took part in an informal Q&A and group discussion, sharing different perspectives and exploring what it means to create a truly inclusive culture at work.
Susan Vella, Corporate Culture Change Manager at APS Bank, said: “This was another step in our ongoing journey towards a more inclusive culture. By creating a safe space for honest dialogue and nurturing ourselves with expert insights, we are helping to make sure everyone at APS feels respected and valued.”
These sessions form part of APS Bank’s wider efforts to promote diversity, respect and understanding as part of its corporate culture.
