The APS Bank football team during the Champions Bank Tournament held in Porec, Croatia.
The APS Bank football team achieved its best-ever result at the Champions Bank Tournament, finishing second among 38 European banks. This marked the team’s ninth participation in the competition since its debut in 2014.
The 16-member squad travelled to Porec, Croatia, for the tournament held between 3 and 5 October 2025. The team delivered an outstanding performance, remaining unbeaten throughout eight matches and not conceding a single goal, before narrowly losing the final on penalties to Intesa San Paolo Lombardia.
Commenting on the achievement, Arnold Buttigieg, Team Captain said, “We are proud to have represented APS Bank and to have reached the final in such a competitive tournament. Beyond the sporting success, this experience strengthened our teamwork and passion for the game.”
The trophies won by the APS Bank football team over the past years, including this latest success, are on display in the Swatar branch foyer.
