APS Bank recently held the second session in its 2025 series of #APSlife Executive Breakfasts. This edition took place on Wednesday, 30 July, at the Swatar Head Office and was delivered by Richard Scerri, Head of Internal Audit.
The session, titled “Internal Audit – Beyond the tick-box: driving value as a business partner”, explored how Internal Audit contributes beyond verifying compliance with the entity’s procedures and processes. Richard Scerri shared how the function supports strong governance, cultural alignment, and long-term performance at the Bank.
Colleagues attending in person and virtually had the opportunity to engage in an informative discussion while enjoying breakfast. The event formed part of APS Bank’s ongoing efforts to encourage open dialogue between senior leadership and colleagues across all levels and departments.
These Executive Breakfasts continue to be well-received as they offer a space to learn more about the work of different teams, and how they contribute to the Bank’s strategy and culture.
Richard Scerri, Head of Internal Audit, commented: “While traditionally viewed through the lens of compliance, in today’s dynamic and complex business environment, Internal Audit is a function that help the organisation to achieve Operational Excellence. Internal Audit brings strategic value to the whole organisation by fostering good governance, reinforcing cultural alignment, and contributing to sustainable success”.
