APS Bank recently held the eighth session in its APS Business Talks series, titled “Co-operatives: An Alternative Business Model.” The talk was delivered by Daniel Schembri, CEO of Koperattivi Malta.
Mr Schembri explained the mission of Koperattivi Malta and outlined the principles and advantages of co-operatives as business models rooted in democratic values and community benefit. He also traced the origins of the cooperative movement, shared best practices from both local and international contexts, and presented Malta’s first community-owned cooperative as an innovative example of sustainable shared ownership. Commenting on the event, Jeremy Vassallo, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager said: “Through APS Business Talks we continue to create a space for learning and dialogue on topics that are relevant to the local business community. The discussion on co-operatives highlighted the value of alternative models that contribute to sustainable growth.”
