APS Bank has become the first bank in Malta to be certified under the EU-backed Autism Friendly Spaces initiative. This follows the training of over 90 colleagues – mainly from the branch network – as certified Autism Ambassadors, giving them the skills to provide informed and empathetic service to customers on the autism spectrum.
The Bank has also launched a dedicated webpage, including a social story video, to guide autistic customers and their families on what to expect when visiting an APS branch. The page also highlights the Bank’s autism-friendly branch hours, held every weekday from 1pm to 2pm.
These steps are part of APS Bank’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that customers of all abilities feel welcome and supported.
Scott Lee Holloway, Head of Customer Experience at APS Bank, said: “This certification is not just a milestone for APS Bank – it’s a promise to our community. We want every customer to feel understood and supported, and our autism-friendly services are an important part of making that happen.”
