In the final quarter of 2025, APS Bank delivered a series of scams awareness sessions aimed at helping individuals recognise fraud and protect themselves. The initiative, led by the Bank’s Customer Experience team together with colleagues from the Financial Crime Compliance Department, was held in collaboration with Kunsill Reġjonali Tramuntana at Day Care Centres in San Pawl il-Baħar, Naxxar, Mosta, Mġarr, Mellieħa and at the council’s premises in Buġibba.

Participants actively engaged, asked questions and shared their experiences, encouraging open discussion around a sensitive but important topic and highlighting the importance of continued community outreach.

Commenting on the initiative, Scott Lee Holloway, Head of Customer Experience at APS Bank, said: “Financial literacy and customer education are central to what we do. These sessions allow us to meet people in their communities, raise awareness about scams and provide practical guidance that helps them feel more confident and secure.”

Cynthia Borg, Head of Financial Crime Compliance at APS Bank, added: “Scams continue to evolve, and awareness remains one of the strongest tools in preventing financial crime. By sharing real examples and practical advice, we help individuals identify warning signs early and take steps to safeguard themselves.”
