Magna Żmien Foundation, known for its extensive archive of Maltese social history, is bringing its work closer to the community through Sharing Spaces, a project capturing the stories, people and everyday life of St Julian’s. Supported by APS Bank, the initiative invites individuals and organisations to contribute personal photographs, films and memories, helping to grow a living archive reflecting the locality’s evolving identity.

As part of the project, a series of open days will be held this weekend, 25–26 April 2026, at the APS Hub in St Julian’s. Each day will include an introductory talk at 10:30, offering insight into the collections being developed and how the public can take part. The sessions will also provide an opportunity to meet the team and learn more about Magna Żmien’s work.

Sharing Spaces builds on the Foundation’s archive of tens of thousands of digitised photographs and films, preserving everyday life in Malta and beyond, while expanding its focus on stories connected to St Julian’s.

Commenting on the initiative, APS Bank CSR Manager Jeremy Vassallo said: “Sharing Spaces is about people, their stories and the places they call home. By supporting this initiative, we are helping create a space where communities can come together, reflect on their shared history and contribute to something meaningful at the APS Hub.”
