Strong Customer Authentication


3D Secure (3DS) helps increase the overall security level of your online payments. This process has now been further enhanced with the introduction of the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).

SCA is a new regulatory requirement designed to make your online purchases safer and even more secure.

With SCA, an additional step has been added to the process of purchasing goods or services online. You will now be asked to insert a personal password, followed with the one-time password (received via SMS). This personal password is set by yourself using myAPS internet and mobile banking.

How do I set my personal password?

  • If you already use myAPS internet and mobile banking


  • If you’ve already set the password up once and need to reset it

If you’ve already set your password up but need to reset it for any reason, simply visit myAPS desktop or mobile, select the ‘Card Password’ section and submit the new password you prefer, in the exact same way you set it up the first time.

Please note our Contact Centre cannot change your password for you, nor can they ask you for this password. This is personal and should never be shared with anyone.


  • If you don’t use myAPS internet and mobile banking yet

In this case, kindly sign up for this service. This can be done by following the instructions here or by reaching out to our Contact Centre on 2122 6644 (Mon to Sat, 8am to 8pm).

Please note that the Bank will never ask for your password over email or provide a website link to set or change this password. This can only be done by logging in to myAPS as per the usual process.

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is a European regulatory requirement, part of the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2). The aim of SCA is to continue minimising the risk of fraudulent transactions and make your online shopping payments safer.
