Bicycles and Pedelecs

In an effort to assist with the increasing road congestion in Malta, the government is offering grants to individuals who choose two wheels as their preferred method of transport. This, in conjunction with new roads accommodating cycle lanes, makes more eco-friendly options a tangible alternative.
Individuals who opt to buy a pedelec or a motorbike will be given a one-time grant of €400. Those individuals who purchase a bicycle will get a refund on VAT up to €85 whilst those purchasing a pedelec or motorised bicycle  will benefit from a VAT refund of up to €250.
