PV Panels

With around 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, Malta has the perfect opportunity to tap into this sustainable energy resource. PV Panels take energy from the sun and convert this into electricity, which can either be used for personal domestic use, or fed back into the national grid.

In order to further encourage the use of renewable sources of energy for domestic use, the Government Grant Scheme launched in 2016 to offer significant subsidies to those installing PV panels. The scheme is part financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

Consumers wanting to install PV Panels are be able to benefit from a 50% government subsidy, up to a maximum of €2,300, on the purchase of the PV panels.
